Wintertime at the Zoo

We took advantage of an average but warmer than it had been day and took a trip to the zoo. The girls and I were happy to not have to bundle up and to explore the "amals" almost on our own. The polar bear was happy in this cool weather. We spent most of our time watching him play with his ball and playing on the playground ourselves. I must admit the playground is pretty neat! We saw alligators, arctic foxes, sea lions, and many other animals in the North America section. That is all we had time to see but will be back when it gets warmer to see some African animals. Those seem to be our favorites....lions, zebras, elephants, and giraffes. The best story from the trip was while we were watching the bison and elk. The male elk had a lot to say so we were discussing what he might be saying. Savanna says, "what do you think that dork is saying?" Yes, she was referring to the elk. I guess they do have the same ending sound.
