A couple of SUPER birthdays

Sadie wanted a Spiderman birthday party so we hosted this at our house. It was a fun group of friends and family who played superhero games and enjoyed Spiderman cake to celebrate our 4 year old.

This 7th birthday celebration was all about the Marvel superheroes. Her favorites are the female characters but we had to broaden our theme so that we could find some party supplies. One of Savanna's awesome traits is that she always likes the most unfamiliar of the characters. We like to say that she cheers for the underdog. We had a fun time with friends at Putt Putt and then a family get together at home.

Just after Christmas our baby will be 6 months old. The time flies faster and faster but we are enjoying her little personality.  She laughs and smiles and has even begun to babble quite a bit.

Introducing......

Sara Catherine and her very proud big sisters! Sara was born on July 2, 2012 at 11:55pm. She came quickly into this world and has brought us nothing but joy since. Her big sisters cannot get enough of her. Sadie wants to touch her ALL of the time and Savanna is the gentle nurturing big sister. Sara LOVES to watch them too. She will follow them as they move around the room.

Snowbabies

We only got one real play in the snow day this past winter and the girls were more than anxious to get out there. There wasn't much snow left on the ground but they managed to find enough to build a snowman for our new baby.

A Special birthday

Mima turned 87 this spring and the girls made cards to tell her how special she is. We enjoyed celebrating this milestone with her this year. I am so thankful that my girls are getting the opportunity to know their great grandmothers. I can remember mine and love watching the two generations interact. Happy happy birthday Mima!!

Superheroes

The girls are into superheroes these days. Here we have their versions of Wolverine and Wanda. I am not even sure who Wanda is but she is a part of the X-men. They can tell you anything you want to know about the Marvel comics superheroes. Superman and his DC comics counterparts are not as popular around this house. I am learning a little about these things the more they learn.

BIG NEWS!!

I realize that it has been a year since I last blogged but it has been a very busy one. We found out around last Thanksgiving that we were expecting our third precious baby in July! Everyone was so so excited to be adding one last Sanders child to the mix, at least on this branch of the family tree. There were lots of preparations to be made. We did not expect to have to purchase new items this go 'round. A new crib and car seat were in the plans. I also worked as a playschool teacher in the spring and all of this just took all of the energy I had which wasn't much. By the time the girls were out of school we were all very anxious to meet our new baby who was due on July 11.
