Climbing to the TOP

The girls and I always enjoy spending the day in Chapel Hill especially when it involves our favorite Nana and Poppy, bounce houses, and the bell tower climb. Lexington is home but Chapel Hill is also in my heart because when I am there I feel a connection to the place, the history, and the history it has for my family. I always think of my Pa and Sam when I am there and we always seem to also be there with family. Nothing sweeter! It was spring football day so there was an air of enthusiasm and excitement all around. Savanna was eyeballing the bouncey things and I could not wait to climb to the top of the bell tower! My parents are such good sports for entertaining all of our desires. Unfortunately it was crowded so there was only one trip down the slide for Savanna before we had lunch and got in line to CLIMB. I have ALWAYS wanted to climb the bell tower but it just hasn't worked out until this visit. Savanna, Poppy and I all headed inside this icon of UNC-Chapel Hill and started climbing......WOW! We waved to Nana and Sadie from the "porch" before heading as high as we could go and back down again. DONE---I can check that off of my list of things to do in my lifetime. Before heading to Kenan Stadium we gave the real Rameses a hug. I can't remember which generation we are on but there have been a lot of rams through Kenan Stadium. Sadie wanted to be as far from the animal as possible but Savanna was right in there feeling his nappy fur. Go Heels!
