Happy Valentine's Day

This Valentine's day was filled with the love of family. We spent the morning with Nana and Poppy and all afternoon playing with mommy and daddy.

All smiles

70 degrees

We have been taking full advantage of this beautiful spring like weather by going to the park, playing in the backyard, and walking around the block. Abby probably likes it most of all because she gets much needed exercise and attention! Sadie has enjoyed being in the swing while Savanna likes playing with Abby. She walked her home yesterday. That is---Savanna held the leash. I think Abby was the leader in that situation.

Sitting up

Sadie is getting stronger. She will sit up unsupported for a little while now and has figured out that she can use her hands to support or balance herself if she needs to.

She's a fish!

Savanna had her first official swim lesson at the YMCA last week. She did everything the instructor asked and was not afraid to get in the water or put her head under! I hope that each of the next 7 weeks goes as well as the first! The problem is getting her OUT! Savanna would be happy if the lesson lasted for an hour or more.

5 months old!

Sadie is growing like a weed! She used to be smaller than the baby doll but is now towering past her.

"She's dancing!"

This is the snowgirl Savanna and mommy created today. She was a modified snowgirl but cute dressed in pink! After we put her arms in Savanna decided she was dancing. Sadie decided to nap while we built our snowgirl. The weather was too cold for her!

YUM YUM EAT 'EM UP!

Sadie has started eating solid foods and she LOVES it! She tries to help with the spoon, making it an even messier process. This week we are going to try veggies. Savanna votes to start with peas but I think we will stick to old favorites....... carrots or sweet potatoes.

Sadie's Baptism

On Sunday, Sadie was baptized at our church in Burlington. It was a special day especially being surrounded by those we love. Sadie was wonderful! She handled the cold water like a champ and had no problem being carried away by a strange man. Savanna had a more difficult time with Sadie being shown to the congregation!

Car Care Bowl

We weren't sure about whether we were going to have tickets to the game but it all worked out in the end. Mom and dad weren't feeling well but we all (except Noah) brought our Carolina spirit. Our seats were great (on the 10 yd. line) and the game was exciting until the end. Our tarheels just couldn't pull it out. As you see we were all smiles still!

First Christmas

Sadie enjoyed her first Christmas. She got new toys and clothes and all she needs to start solid foods in the next month. Our baby is growing quickly! We are enjoying all of the sides of our little bug--smiley, fiesty, playful, talkative (in baby terms), and busy.

Joy to the World!

This is the song Savanna has been going around singing since Christmas. She does not get the words right but some are close. It is fun to watch her enjoy the holidays so much. We had a good Christmas and were excited to start (hopefully) a new Sanders family tradition of staying home for Christmas Eve, attending the spontaneous Christmas pageant at church and having our own family Christmas dinner and celebration. Savanna chose to be an angel at church though she was baffled as to why there weren't dresses for all of the little angels. The halo props were not enough costume for her I guess. She did a great job at the front of the church and is beginning to get the real meaning of the season. She was the one who called out that Jesus was born on Christmas day.
